Replenishment Buyer - Food Manufacturing
We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientated Replenishment Buyer. They will repeatedly purchase appropriate items and maintain control of working stock/Par values meeting inventory days on hand targets.

This Individual will work with procurement and will purchase products ONLY from the pre-approved supplier's list at the pre-negotiated rates with consideration given to the urgency of needs.

They are responsible for maintaining adequate supplies of inventory to meet customer service level expectations while minimizing inventory loss due to spoilage/obsolescence and days on-hand inventory as per company expectations.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Purchase, plan, & source material repeatedly from local suppliers.
  • Maintain professional ongoing relationships with key vendors.
  • Purchase inventory and follow up with vendors on availability and shipping dates.
  • Monitor delivery dates and expedite orders if needed.
  • Daily maintenance of inventory & suggest transfers among locations to prevent overstock and ensure inventory levels are balanced.
  • Daily maintenance of inventory ERP system to ensure it is accurate.
  • Assist in planning ahead of time and provide vendors with a forecast of product requirements.
  • Verify quantity and quality of stock received from the manufacturer.
  • Successfully resolve problems with suppliers regarding deliveries and quality of product, invoicing, rejections, etc.
  • Assist in planning production operations.
  • Keep customer service, R&D and Production and Operations staff informed of inventory availability.
  • Support internal clients (other departments).
  • Review sales targets and inventory levels to ensure inventory is being kept at acceptable levels.
  • Manage suppliers and address performance issues.
  • Assist in building product selection.
  • Secure products for promotions and marketing programs, as needed.
  • Support Q/A to ensure that existing inventory is within proper expiration codes.
  • Review quality concerns on perishable overstock inventory and recommend a plan for the disposition of the product.
  • The Replenishment Buyer will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a food purchasing role, with familiarity in managing logistics and forecasting product needs.
  • Organization and analytical Skills
  • Attentive to details
  • Ability to work as a team. Must be able to diplomatically, tactfully, and professionally be persistent when representing the company to effectively deal with suppliers.
  • Strongly Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook as required.
