Production Supervisor
Simcoe Parts Service is currently recruiting for a production Supervisor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and hard-working professional to join our manufacturing team.
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day function of warehousing and team members to achieve key performance objectives.
You will play a critical role in supporting motivating team members, monitoring performance to ensure the team achieves production objectives and ensuring quality service to our customer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 or Community College/University.
- Sound knowledge and demonstrable success of providing leadership on production environment
- 23 years production experience leading people
- Demonstrated ability to lead & motivate team lead and associates
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of multiple production processes
- Experience in forklift and tow buggy operation
- Must be able to work rotating shifts based on a 2week rotation schedule, and periodically work production Saturdays and other declared overtime.
- Knowledge of 5S & Lean Manufacturing Methodology
- Knowledge of Inventory management systems
DUTIES:
- Ensure associates are working in compliance with OHSA and it's regulations
- Ensure associates are using any equipment, protective devices, and/or clothing required by SPS
- Advise associates of any workplace health and safety hazards that you (Supervisor) are aware of
- Give workers instructions and training on measures and procedures to be followed for their own protection
- Ensure that an investigation is conducted of an accident/incident or complaint of misconduct and follow the reporting requirements for the workplace (complete the associate report of accident/incident form)
- Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstance to protect workers
- Lead and develop section leaders and associates to achieve goals or safety, environmental performance, production volume, quality, service, and cost.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement/5S with assembly associates performance through regular feedback, coaching and training.
- Approve and authorize exception reports, overtime, and Manpower requirements.
- Develop and implement production reporting as required
- Oversee and or complete 2 Why's/5P's and ensure completion of countermeasures
- Maintains workflow by monitoring the process, setting assembly variables, observing control points and equipment, monitor associates and resources, implement cost reductions.
- Review, analyze and make recommendations regarding safety, environmental performance, quality, productivity, and customer feedback.
- Ensure Associate Compliance with SPS Op Standards, Safety Alerts, Quality Alerts.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Ensure compliance with Employment Standards Act
- Ensure assembly associates are oriented and trained.
- Maintain First aid CPR, and Defibrillator Certification.
- Support and or participate in JHSC activities if required.
