As a Caregiver, you will assist clients with their day-to-day activities so that they can continue living independently at home

This would entail:

Assisting clients with personal care such as bathing and dressing
Providing companionship
Taking clients for outings or exercise
Performing basic meal preparation
Performing light housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, taking out the garbage, doing the patient's laundry, vacuuming, and dusting
Providing respite while the primary caregiver is out of the home
Taking clients to appointments

Qualifications

Supportive Care Worker Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate or completion of Term 1 of a PSW program
Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Tuberculosis within 6 months
Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
Effective English communication skills, written and verbal
Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, sitting; able to reposition clients in bed
Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful and courteous manner
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable car
