Your role as Legal Counsel, Health and Privacy Law
What you'll be doing:
- Provide legal opinions and strategic advice to different teams regarding applicable health and privacy laws and regulations
- Maintain advanced knowledge of Canadian health and privacy laws
- Develop legal processes and documentation to enhance privacy and health regulatory compliance
- Support the communications with medical regulatory bodies, provincial and federal governments and relevant interest groups concerning health law matters
- Participate in crossfunctional initiatives and projects, such as impact assessments related to new legislation, new service offerings, new products or entering new markets around both health and privacy matters
- Advise on a wide range of commercial agreements involving complex, multistakeholder legal issues
- Conduct legal risk assessments relating to proposed business and operational decisions and work with business leaders to mitigate risks to stakeholders around both health and privacy matters
- Provide timely and practical legal advice regarding the company's daytoday operations
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 3-5 years' experience in the healthcare, or privacy sectors, and familiarity with regulated environments acquired within a company or in private practice
- Bachelor's degree in civil law (LL.B. or LL.L.) and is a member of the Quebec or Ontario Bar
- Proficient in developing privacy programs within organizations
- Strong legal acumen, fostering collaboration and adept problemsolving skills
- Skilled in writing, negotiating, and managing multiple priorities and files simultaneously
- Effective communicator, adept at fostering relationships with multidisciplinary teams internally and externally, including legal professionals, in corporate settings
- Capable of autonomously developing programs, policies, processes, and other documentation
