Job Summary


A Brief Overview

The Housing and Ancillary Services team manages 4,940 student beds in 18 residence buildings, as well as off-campus rental apartment and housing properties, three dining halls, numerous retail foodservice locations on campus, the Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre, and Event Services.

Residence buildings also provide temporary accommodations for the summer conference, events and tourism markets. Revenue and services from these units support vital student life programs and contribute to the University's learning environment.

Community Housing is responsible for all aspects of the University's leased housing and manages the off-campus properties owned by the University, consisting of 260 units at An Clachan, 123 units at John Orr Tower, and 62 properties in the University District.


Note:
Must be available for Peak Turnover periods (April 30, May 1, August 31, September 1).

This position acts as the first point of contact for tenants. This position cleans common spaces within the housing complex, including hallways, stairwells, corridors, and laundry rooms. This position reports damages, required repairs, and violations of lease agreements. This position admits and escorts contractors to perform repairs in the building. This position also communicates with current and prospective tenants and delivers notifications.

What you will do Acts as a first point of contact with tenants regarding building issues.

  • Cleans common spaces within the housing complex, including hallways, stairwells, corridors, and laundry rooms.
Reports damages within the housing complex for repairs.
Admits and escorts contractors to perform repairs in the building.
Provides apartment tours to prospective tenants.
Delivers tenant notifications.

  • Reports violations of lease agreements.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

Required Education

  • Secondary School Diploma.

Required Experience

  • More than 6 months and up to and including 1 year of experience.

Required Licenses and Certifications Satisfactory Criminal Records Check required.
Vulnerable Sector Screening required.

Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
