POSITION OVERVIEW


Reporting to the Vice-President, Portfolio Management and Digital Products, the Assistant Vice-President, Project Management Office, is responsible for the overall project management function and a member of the Information Technology Leadership Committee.

He or she is responsible for the management of the Project Management Office (PMO) as well as the delivery of the project portfolio.

The incumbent implements rigorous and modern project management practices and processes while ensuring sound governance and distribution according to best industry practices.

He or she works with the management team to set priorities for the project portfolio and the various project proponents.

He or she also works closely with the various IT leaders in terms of delivery, architecture and development.

Leader of a team of project managers and project control officers, he or she ensures their performance and development of their competencies as well as the evolution of the department in a bimodal environment.


CHALLENGES TO BE MET- Responsible for managing the portfolio of digital initiatives.- Act as an expert and leader in the development and implementation of an Agile project and portfolio management culture within their team.- Develop and manage a comprehensive project portfolio management framework and a range of projects across the organization.

Evaluate all current and future projects and actively collaborate with business partners and IT leaders to identify opportunities, define projects and prioritize execution to achieve organizational objectives.- Direct and guide the execution of priority projects across the organization, including providing project management resources and coaching to the organization's various business partners, including IT leaders.- Prepare project portfolio updates for monthly reporting to the organization's management and business partners.- Communicate clearly and consistently the status of the portfolio, including at management committees or other committee meetings.- Responsible for the required preparation, implementation, animation of the monthly committee presenting the state of the portfolio within IT.- Ensure the quality of activities such as evaluating project costs and delivery strategies.- Support the annual investment planning process for projects and initiatives.- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of project management practices, governance standards, processes, tools and parameters to ensure that the methodology and procedures in place are adhered to by project managers.- Recruits, motivates and leads portfolio/project management teams, and provides ongoing coaching to ensure their effectiveness.

Accompany the team, using different tools such as targeted training, coaching and others, in the acquisition of the skills necessary for success.

Monitor performance.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR- At least ten years of experience in portfolio management (PMI and Agile), including at least three years in large-scale project management- Change management from a traditional PMO to an Agile approach- Bachelor's degree in project management or any other discipline deemed relevant- Knowledge of the banking environment is an asset- Master's degree in project management is an asset- Experience in managing human resources, both internal and external- Ability to influence, collaborate and present to senior management- Excellent stakeholder management skills; diplomacy- Ability to influence and guide project execution through coaching- Sense of organization, autonomy and ability to adapt to new technologies- Proven skills for servant leadership and coaching- Ability to lead and implement large-scale changes- Understanding of political aspects and sense of priorities- Negotiation skills- Expertise in technology or business project management- Very good knowledge of PMI (Project Management Institute) methodology and the Agile approach- Ability to understand technical and business issues- Excellent communication skills;
