Job Description The Opportunity**We currently have a one-year contract opportunity within Finance for a Marketing & Digital Controller position. The Marketing & Digital Controller will report to the Director of Corporate Finance and Chief Marketing Officer. In addition, the Marketing & Digital Controller will partner with the National & Regional Marketing teams to manage the Marketing forums.


The Marketing & Digital Controller will provide strategic leadership in the areas of financial and risk management and is also responsible for stewardship of the assets of the Marketing Forum.

The Marketing & Digital Controller will also partner with key stakeholders to manage the marketing funds and optimize marketing returns.


Principal Accountabilities:
In addition to following McDonald's policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic/Business Development

  • Active member of the Marketing Leadership team in the development of short and longterm strategies
  • Finance Lead within Marketing and for cross functional initiatives that impact the Marketing Forums
  • Strategic business partnering with various stakeholders to optimize costs and maximize returns while supporting business priorities
  • Oversight of risk management for Marketing Forums
  • Fascinate and lead discussions with Marketing Forum Board of Directors on finance related matters and strengthen confidence in management of Marketing Forums financials
Fiduciary Responsibility

  • Overseeing the finances for the Marketing Forums which includes compliance with accounting and reporting standards, maintaining financial controls and safeguarding the assets of the Marketing Forums
  • Ensuring the financial health of the Marketing Forums including cash flow management
  • Management of the Audit for the National and Regional Marketing Forum of Ontario
  • Enhancing processes and ensuring adherences to guidelines and funding principles related to overall governance of the Marketing Forums
  • Working with Stakeholders to develop the Annual Budget and providing projections to Marketing Leadership including Board of Directors
  • Foster a culture of accountability with stakeholders as it relates to budget and expenditure management
People

  • Foster an environment that supports and develops a highperforming team
  • Responsible for educating stakeholders on understanding financial information, policies, procedures and governance
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enable development of the team
  • Manages key relationships with banks, suppliers and Accounting firms to support the ongoing success of the Marketing Forums

Qualifications

  • Strong Accounting and Finance experience with a CPA designation
  • Solid influencing and strategic leadership skills to align stakeholders on key business priorities
  • Experience managing a team of Finance Managers
  • Ability to foster a strong culture of team development and "One Team" mentality
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
