Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA): - Job Duties
Job Duties - 1. Prepare and deliver lessons, lectures, and demonstrations for educational purposes to students and/or staff as may be required.
- Select, design, update, and/or construct training aids/materials.
- Supervise students in classrooms, labs, tours, work placements, etc., following institute, trade, and safety guidelines.
- Evaluate and record student progress with the use of assessments, assignments, and observations in accordance with program and institute guidelines.
- Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies.
- Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
- Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
- Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
- Respond to curriculum/course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs such as adult learning principles.
- Develop new curriculum as needed. Maintain and up-date online curriculum materials as part of instructor duties.
- Be reflective of and responsive to accommodation of special learning needs including equity groups and diverse learners.
- Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
- Work cooperatively in an interdependent team environment.
- Follow policies and procedures adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
- Attend program and school meetings.
