Oz Kafe is looking to add a part-time Pastry/Prep cook to the team.

Shifts will be Monday and Tuesday 10am to 5pm. Extra hours will be available during our busy events season. You must be available to work Friday and Saturday when needed. Some experience in baking & pastry is required. You must be mature, responsible, able to work independently while managing your time efficiently.

You will be the opening staff member and will be working alone for a few hours until dinner staff arrive for their shifts.


Duties will include:

  • Checking dessert prep levels & making dessert items as needed (examples include: chocolate mousse cake, upside down cakes, tart shells, citrus curd, baked meringues, fruit coulis, chocolate and caramel sauces, pastry cream, sponge toffee, doughnuts, candied nuts, jam etc, etc)
  • Making sourdough bread and burger buns
  • Making ice cream and sorbet mixes and churning them
  • Making fresh pasta and/or gnocchi
  • Receiving deliveries, checking through them, putting them away
  • Use of deli meat slicer, blender, food processor, smoker, vacuum sealer
  • Helping the dinner crew with prep tasks such as : slicing deli meats, portioning cheeses, making mayonaise, picking herbs, basic vegetable prep like washing & dicing.
Compensation will be between 16-17$/hr with additional tip shares of another (approximately) 2.50$/hr.
