What You'll Get To Do

Mechanical work involving dismantling, overhauling, repairing, fabrication, assembling, testing, cleaning, and painting work related to equipment and facilities, pipelines, filtration systems, pumps, motors, valves, equipment, tanks, building, HVAC systems, electrical equipment, instrumentation, computer systems, communications systems, hydrant fuel distribution systems, equipment, and facilities
Conduct routine maintenance on all Calm Air buildings/facilities including special projects
Action daytoday coordination and completion of all assigned facility projects
Respond to all adhoc facility related requests
Prepare and deliver project status updates and provide summaries to the Property Manager
Work alongside external contractors on special projects
Must be able to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and plans of an electrical and mechanical nature
Creation of budgets for all scopes of work based on approved plans
Report on any concerns regarding timelines or budgets with recommended course of action
Conduct material estimation and acquisition for various projects
Promote and adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety practices within the department
Engage in ongoing cost reduction analysis
Maintain the CMMS system
Other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience We Value

25 years construction experience required
Working knowledge of facilities and maintenance equipment, drawings, specifications, building material and required standards
Ability to interpret plans and specifications
Carpentry experience an asset
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and complete projects within tight timelines
Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license
Ability to lift 75 lbs
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Airport Identification Card (RAIC)
Travel is a requirement of this position (approximately 4060%)
Inuktitut language considered an asset
Preference will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
