T he Brandon Regional Health Centre (BRHC) is accepting applications for these positions in the Emergency Department:

• Permanent 1.0 EFT
• Term 0.50 EFT
• Term 0.75 EFT

Start date for full time is immediate or can be negotiated. Theterm positions are subject toexpiry with 24 hours' notice of return of the current incumbents).

The 308-bed Brandon Regional Health Centre is a regional referral centre for Southwestern Manitoba and receives about 27,000 emergency visits per year with greater than 60% being CTAS 1-3. BRHC is a teaching hospital with residency programs for Family Medicine, Anesthesia, and EM residents, with opportunities for teaching and appointment with the University of Manitoba.

Interested physicians should indicate which posting they are interested in and submit aCV with attention to ED training (exampleCCFP-EM), experience, up-to-date information regarding certification in PALS, ACLS and ATLS. Please also provide the names of three references we may contact.

With a population of just over 51,000, and a catchment population of over 180,000, Brandon is a thriving rural community with lifestyle opportunities for all ages. Located a short drive of 200 kms west from Winnipeg on the TransCanada highway, Brandon is large enough to supply all the retail, medical, educational and cultural needs on a daily basis and small enough to avoid high costs of living and long commutes to work.

Brandon University has a significant reputation in music, general arts and science programs. Assiniboine Community College provides a wide range of education options (which includes the Insti tute of Culinary Arts), and we also have Robertson College and the Manitoba Emergency Services College.

Cottage country/camping recreation is second to none with Riding Mountain National Park one hour North, the International Peace Gardens situated on the Manitoba/North Dakota border just over an hour to the south and Spruce Woods provincial park 30 minutes to the West. Brandon's enthusiastic volunteer base lands many provincial, national and international events. With a population increase of 5%, it is a vibrant community in which to live, work and play.

Qualifications:

• ⁞Fellowship from the Royal College of Canada
• MD, CCFP
• Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
• ACLS & PALS

Preferred qualifications:

• CCFP-EM or FRCPC
• ATLS
• Procedural Sedation

Compensation:

• As per the negotiated agreement with Doctors Manitoba and Shared Health
• A 1.0 EFT permanent position consists of 1400 hours per year
• A 0.75 EFT position consists of 1050 hours per year and ends on August 31, 2023
• A 0.50 EFT position consists of 700 hours per year and ends on April 1, 2023 but may extend longer
