The Quality Control Specialist to join our team will play a vital part in engineering top-notch products and services in a unique industry and at a rapidly growing organization, as well as have the opportunity to grow alongside North America's best and brightest professionals in fleet accident, safety, and risk management.
A Day in the Life- Providing suggestions and tailored recommendations to customers- Reviewing photos submitted by repair facilities and comparing them against estimates submitted- Ensuring labor rates charged by repair shops are fully in-line with prevailing industry labor rates- Ensuring proposed labor hours are reasonable and in-line with the required scope of repair work- Suggesting the use of cost reduction alternatives, including aftermarket and like-kind-and-quality parts- Evaluating each estimate to ensure the scope of work is reasonable and in-line with the actual physical damage applicable to the vehicle- Ensuring repair cost estimates are managed in-line with our client guidelines and parameters- Utilizing major estimating systems and related tools to perform estimate reviews- Negotiating as necessary with providers- Documenting discussions with providers and completing workflows as necessary- Documenting all appropriate savings and revisions
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent 5 years of experience in body shop, either handson or estimating
- Knowledge of vehicle anatomy and repair techniques, including frame straightening, welding, and refinishing
- Strong familiarity with automotive parts and pricing
- Ability to interpret OEM repair procedures and guidelines
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding collision repair a plus
- Skills in computer estimating, nomenclature, and procedures
- Familiarity with repair times including judgment and book times
- A consultative customer experience preferred
- A Physical Damage Appraiser license or equivalent experience is a plus
- I-CAR certification preferred
- Certifications/Licenses can be substituted for hands on experience
