Volunteer and Student Placement Coordinator
Full-Time, Permanent
1 Position
Salary - $54,552.36 Annually

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with program staff across the organization to identify needs which can be supported through volunteerism and postsecondary school placements
- Based on the needs of program areas, recruit, screen, and interview volunteers for placement
- Provide orientation and training to volunteers and unpaid students
- Ensure volunteer job descriptions, volunteer engagement contracts, and all other documentation are accurate and up to date
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive volunteer personnel files, tracking of training, and other pertinent documents, both physically and electronically on the Volunteer Database (GALAXY)
- Communicate regularly with volunteers, students, and staff members regarding the program
- Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events
- Represent the organization at public meetings, volunteer coordinator events, and presentations to the community
- Gather, analyze, and utilize volunteer and student feedback using various engagement methods (survey, focus groups, etc.), to provide improvements to the volunteer and student placement program
- Knowledge of employment, and volunteer related legislation, including but not limited to, Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
- Committed to upholding the organization's mission, values and standards
- Work safely, identify any health and safety concerns and report to management, and follow Mission Services workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 12 years experience in the field of recruitment, or volunteer coordination
- A certificate in Volunteer Management an asset
- A diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field is an asset
- Experience in group facilitation, training, and support is an asset
- Experience in managing individuals and/or groups of people is an asset
- Experience with GALAXY/databases is an asset
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and motivate individuals
- Must demonstrate high organization and attention to detail skills
HOURS:
- 37.5 hours per week Monday through Friday
- Flexible start time
REQUIREMENTS:
- Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Police Check
- Two-Step Tuberculosis Skin Test
- Proof of COVID19 vaccination, or willingness to register to receive this vaccination as soon as possible
COMPENSATION:
- *Benefits after 3-months of continuous, active employment
- *Group RRSP employer matching up to 3% after one (1) year of continuous employment
