Position Description:

We are currently looking for a
Communications Advisor to join the ENRICH and IMPaCT team.

Reporting to the Program Manager, this individual will work with leadership within ENRICH and IMPaCT, contributing to the implementation of a range of communications activities, aimed largely at an external audience, to increase awareness and uptake of the activities and outputs of the platform, with attention to underrepresented populations and the for-profit sector.

The Communications Advisor
is a project planner and implementer.

This position requires a strong team player and gifted writer who has a proven ability to independently manage multiple files in a creative, efficient manner.


Here's What You'll Get To Do:

  • Manage all client relationships, implementing strategies to grow and promote connections while maintaining an up-to-date list of all members of the platform.
  • Create and update communications guidelines in alignment with best practices in the health and international development sector.
  • Develop communication plans and carry out communications activities that increase understanding of the platform value and its mission.
  • Lead, develop and strengthen partnerships with Indigenous lead organizations, Black community lead organizations, and organizations lead by underrepresented populations in Canada.
  • Lead in the development and drafting of various newsletters, articles, tweets and blog posts.
  • Develop content and manage social media channels as well as the platform websites, writing and editing content.
  • Represent the platform at meetings with partners regarding communications and approve content being published by partners to ensure adherence to platform style, branding and content guidelines.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for social media activities, including strategic communications planning and content development and posting.
  • Regularly liaise with partners, in terms of communications strategy and content sharing.
  • Act as a primary monitor for all social media channels to provide analytical data and strategic plans to the evaluation committee
  • Lead the communication of platform events and updates including award competition and deadlines, seminars, webinars, inperson and virtual sessions, retreats, symposiums, knowledge mobilization plans, and organizing meetings for committees and platform partners.
  • Engage actively with community partners and organization to determine training needs for diverse populations
  • Manage a multitude of client relationships including media relations and regularly provides strategic communications planning expertise and execution of plans.

Here's What You'll Need:


  • Degree/diploma in Communications or a related area is required.
  • Significant communications or public affairs experience, preferably in a healthcare or health research setting.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in one of the following: (1)a social media company, public affairs firm, or company where you focused on healthcare or health research communication, or (2) the public affairs or communications branch of an organization in the healthcare, research, pharmaceutical, health distribution sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and create compelling, engaging and innovative digital content for both social media and websites.
  • Proficient in Office 365, WordPress/Elementor, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media outlets
  • Familiar with Redcap and cVent
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to manage relationships well
  • Selfmotivated and proactive with the ability to manage multiple projects simultan
