Reports To:
Development Manager
Position Summary:
The Development Intern will support the department in ongoing/upcoming projects and will take on various responsibilities pertaining to the land development process.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Development team with various projects and assignments, including developing and maintaining project files, and the preparation of correspondence, memos, spreadsheets, and/or presentations.
- Assist in the preparation of multifamily development due diligence and market research activities related to existing assets, conversions, and new development.
- Coordinate and attend internal and external project meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and distribute, as necessary.
- Perform other supportive duties as required.
Key Competencies:
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and policies including the _Planning Act_, _Provincial Policy Statement (PPS)_, _Growth Plan, _municipal Official Plans and Zoning By-Laws.
- Ability to read building plans and drawings to assist with the coordination of various construction and development projects.
- Capacity to work in a fastpaced team environment while remaining flexible to changing priorities.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an Urban Planning, Real Estate Management, or equivalent post
- Familiarity with principles and practices of urban planning, urban design and land development.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of 3D modelling software, such as SketchUp, is an asset.
- Excellent analytical, communication and organization skills, with attention to detail.
