JOB SUMMARY
The Funding Officer coordinates the process of student funding requirements including funding for tuition and living costs; and provides direct advocacy support with funders.
Performs all routine tasks of student file maintenance including Student Record Systems and manual student files, student attendance and progress reporting, as well as program reports.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and manage Student Record System, Student Attendance System, and Student Funding Database.
- Process students funding requirements and assist students seeking funding for tuition and living costs.
- Create, maintain and archive all student records, including attendance and progress reports.
- Assist with participant selection and file review.
- Provide student support surrounding attendance and progress concerns.
- Student Follow-Up and Advocacy.
- Assist with internal queries regarding student information and administrative file information.
- Process and maintain student funding data system and coordinate this information with related departments of
- Provide support and assistance to instructors regarding the Student Records and File Management Systems.
- Maintain document information and prepare analysis and statistical reports as required.
- Ensure funding payments are received, and completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure student information is kept confidential according to policies.
- Complete the interface of information on a daily basis between SRS and the College financial system to ensure statistical information is available for sponsorship tracking and invoicing.
- Ensure files are exported from the College prior to the month end and imported to the Student Financial Assistance database.
- Assist with Recruitment Efforts.
- Other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Post-Secondary education and/or relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience in working with clients in assessment and support services.
- Experience working with computer databases (organizing and operating a student records database and file management system).
- Training and/or experience in records management in the educational field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, databases and internet.
- Strong communication (written and oral), leadership, problem solving, organizational and priorities/time management skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a dynamic student and staff team environment.
- Experience and understanding of the Indigenous community is essential.
