We are seeking dynamic and innovative individuals who will work enthusiastically to deliver recovery oriented, client and family centered and comprehensive services that meet client needs, ensure client safety and work within a quality improvement framework to identify opportunities for enhancing quality and quantitative outcomes of the services.

We require ABI Supportive Housing Workers to work at our ABI Collegeview Program. Collegeview is a supportive housing program located at the Collegeview Apartment site in the Yonge St./College St. area of downtown Toronto.
This program provides rent-geared-to-income accommodation and supports to adults with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) requiring various levels of physical, cognitive, and behavioral support.
Residents reside in their own apartments and share a communal kitchen with other residents.The goal of the program is to assist residents with activities of daily living and other individual goals so that they can maintain their housing and lead productive lives within the community.
The Collegeview staff team support the program every day, 24hrs 7 days a week.Role Description
Supportive Housing Workers support tenants to maintain their housing, develop independent living skills, and pursue personal recovery and wellness.
Summary of Duties:
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those below:
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote adequate care for the clients
- Manage medication and mediate client mental and physical car
- Support/encourage clients in activities of daily living
- Advocate with and on behalf of clients to improve and or maintain wellbeing and benefits
- Create, maintain and improve a healthy working relationship with the client and their circle of care
Summary of Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Community College Diploma in a field relevant to the target population. Higher level postsecondary education will be considered an asset
- A minimum of 2 years direct or transferable experience suitable to working effectively with people with ABI in a communitybased setting
- Knowledge of community resources relevant to the target population being served
- Ability to design and implement group activities and facilitate group meetings
- Good crisis management and dispute resolution skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Welldeveloped computer skills (Word, Email, Internet)
- Proven skills and/or understanding of how to manage challenging behaviors (Current CPI certification is preferable)
- Demonstrated understanding of ABI symptoms and strategies
- Ability to develop crisis safety plans and goal plans with clients
- Ability to provide personal care (i.e. Toileting, bathing) and other activities of daily living (i.e. cooking, cleaning, laundry)
- Experience working with people with mental health and/or addiction issues is an asset
