The Planning Specialist is responsible for a broad range of planning services to support long range capital demands, facility requirements, school boundaries, land use and accommodation planning.

The specialist will lead quantitative analysis and demographic projections for schools and communities in HRM, and acts as the primary internal expert on HRCE demographics.

Working collaboratively within a team environment, the Planning Specialist will demonstrate a strong commitment to the school improvement process in support of student learning and well-being, and will report directly to the Director, Operation Services.


Qualifications:

(a) Completion of a college or university program in a discipline related to planning, engineering, or construction;
(b) Minimum five (5) years experience in Project or Data Management, preferably within a land use planning or capital planning environment;
(c) Relevant experience working in educational institutions or public sector considered an asset;
(d) Accredited Learning Environment Planner (ALEP) certification considered an asset.


Salary:

This is a Professional Employees Group (PEG) position on the NCR 8 salary scale with an annual range of $64, $85, Professional Employees Group (PEG) Terms and Conditions of Employment apply.
