ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
The Stationary Engineer opportunity is in London, ON and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. The position requires straight days shifts, with overtime available in weekends.
This position is primarily responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining the refrigeration and HVAC equipment, boilers, water heaters, water treatment stations, water pumps and air compressors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates and maintains ammonia compressors, air compressors, boilers, glycol chillers, cooling towers, water softeners, air dryers, pumps and HVAC in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performing boiler feed and cooling tower water tests, log in the findings and do the required corrections to bring the water quality withing required specs.
- Perform minor repair and general maintenance duties associated with building and systems.
- Documents ammonia & air compressor, boiler readings
- Track and log all gas, water, and hydro meters readings.
- Provide assistance to maintenance trades as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid 4th Class Operating Engineer Certification or Refrigeration Operator Class "B" Certification
- Good mechanical & electrical troubleshooting aptitude
- Familiar with CMMS and preventative maintenance programs
- Familiar with computer software, HMI's
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with people at all levels in the organization.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have experience working as an operator in an TSSA regulated ammonia plant
- Extensive experience on HVAC/R systems
- Familiar with CMMS and preventative maintenance programs
- Strong troubleshooting and interpersonal skills
- Bending and lifting required; lifting under 30 kg
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work on a scaffold as required
- Medium computer skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Provide vacation coverage for other maintenance personnel.
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain necessary security clearance
