About the Position:
Maintain Big Ticket Items (BTI) and truck fleet electronics. Technical support for Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Marketing and all On Street Service (OSS) departments.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and Maintenance of the local rental fleet
- Prep consignment stock for sales or rentals
- Be the main liaison for product ordered from Ver-Mac
- Supply branches with support, repairs and technical support
- Provide technical phone support, troubleshooting and training on all Ver-Mac products
- Stay current on our products
- Assist the product specialist when new product is added to fleet
- Order stock and maintain inventory of parts
- Ensure all paperwork is to corporate standards and completed in a timely manner
- Provide warranty service for sold equipment
- Required to take afterhours calls
- Ensure Lean and 5S tasks are maintained daily
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions
- Pick up and deliver of BTI trailers.
Qualifications:
- Postsecondary education in Electronics Engineering Technology, mechanics or related field is preferred but not required.
- Electronics background and ability to diagnose electronic issues is an asset.
- Ability to undergo and pass a preemployment drug, alcohol and fit test. *As this is a safety sensitive position, we have a zero tolerance policy for use of marijuana (medical or recreational). Fit test includes ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders/stairs to access equipment, etc.
- Previous work experience in the traffic control/construction industry is an asset.
- Knowledge of print reading and motor controls (A.C. and D.C.) is preferred.
- Intermediate computer literacy with Microsoft Office 365: Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.
- Ability to install software drivers and perform basic troubleshooting while communicating issues effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- A valid (nongraduated) Class 5 driver's license and clean driving abstract is required to drive our company vehicles.
