Position Description:

We are currently looking for a Decision Support Specialist to join the Decision Support Team at SickKids. This individual will report to the Director of Enterprise Analytics and Data Integration.


Here¿s What You¿ll Get To Do


In this role you will support an ongoing partnership with clinical and non-clinical partners by providing data analysis and preparing standard and ad-hoc reports.

You will also be involved in data quality projects and responsible to support clinical programs performance measurement activities through managing their scorecards.

You will participate in regular partner meetings and will take the lead in supporting analytical requirements of your clinical partner teams.

You will support gathering, organizing, and maintaining accurate cost data from various sources, including electronic health records and financial systems.


Here¿s What You¿ll Need

  • University Degree in a Health Related Discipline
  • 3 or more years of progressive experience in clinical data analysis, performance measurement, reporting, case costing, and resource utilization analytics as well as other decision support related responsibilities
  • Understanding and working knowledge of balanced scorecards and development of key performance indicators for clinical and nonclinical areas
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of CIHI data, Case Costing, MIS guidelines, GRASP data, MOHLTC requirements and initiatives such as QIPs
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of case costing processes and submission requirements, in compliance with provincial OCC standards and methodologies
  • Experience with Business Intelligence systems and familiarity with CIHI data is a strong asset
  • Demonstrate advanced analytical skills including statistical analysis
  • Proven ability to communicate confidently and effectively with various levels of the organization (both clinical and nonclinical) in order to establish effective working relationships and collaboration.
  • Highly proactive and independent with exceptional conceptual and critical thinking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Access and PowerPoint is a must
  • Proficiency in SQL is considered a strong asset
  • Data quality focused and detail orientated
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives
