What you'll be doing:

In collaboration with the Director of Operations, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maximizing sales performance through proper rotation, display, signage and inventory of processed merchandise.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the store budget including maintaining position control, achieving processing goals, generating revenue and controlling expenses.
  • Meeting or exceeding sales goals on a consistent basis.
  • Hiring, training, and directing the activities of team members to provide an efficient and effective work force.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, equitable and safe work environment for all team members.
  • Ensure that performance evaluations are conducted in a timely manner.
  • Modeling expected behavior and attitudes necessary for all retail positions.
  • Coaching team members to ensure continuous performance improvement of both the individual in their role and of the overall team.
  • Train other Goodwill team members how to perform all aspects of a particular job including paperwork and documentation required
  • Oversee the proper handling and processing of incoming and outgoing donations: onsite donations, (Outlet) merchandise, processed goods, salvage goods if applicable, and waste.
  • Ensuring high quality customer service is presented and provided by employees in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Managing all customer concerns, complaints and compliments and developing action plans for betterment.
  • Overseeing and regularly auditing till opening and closing procedures. Responsible for all store cash floats and petty cash.
  • Ensure that store and surrounding premises are kept clean and free of safety hazards, and that safety procedures are understood and followed by all store employees.
  • Ensure that loss prevention matters are reported and investigated accurately and in a timely manner
  • Working in a multifunctional environment where flexibility may be required to work in other areas or locations to perform functions outside of regular duties.

What you bring to the table:

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Post secondary diploma or degree in retail management or business is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 (five) years of management experience, preferably in a retail environment, including staff selection, training and performance management.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (including evening and weekends).
  • Ability to influence, empower and motivate staff, and hold team members accountable for the completion of responsibilities as well as attainment of performance goals.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse working environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid analytical, critical thinking and problemsolving abilities.
  • Sound decisionmaking skills with good business sense and demonstrated initiative.
  • A friendly, courteous demeanor and a professional appearance.
  • You deliver amazing customer service by going above and beyond for all Goodwill customers.
