Responsibilities:


The Quotations Specialist will be responsible for efficiently quoting new industrial and oil & gas bulk and engineered projects that are out for tender and to determine if specifications are achievable and profitable to the company.


The incumbent is accountable for obtaining requests for quotes from industrial contractors, engineering firms and end users, and to coordinate the specifications into a tender package.

The
Quotations Specialist is responsible for investigating manufacturer coverage and negotiating with a variety of suppliers to obtain pricing terms and delivery schedules.


  • Prepare quotations based on specifications provided by our customers
  • Drawing/Specification transmittal & document control
  • Determine manufacturer coverage for specified products
  • Negotiation with key suppliers to obtain project pricing
  • Project file maintenance
  • Act as liaison with our vendors, contractors and internal staff throughout the tender process
  • Perform other duties as required in the Projects Department
  • Complete bid packages as required for engineering firms

Qualifications:


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Good working knowledge of Wire and Cable is an asset
  • Product knowledge of the electrical business is essential
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills
  • Computer literacy proficient with all Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of the AS400 software system is preferred
  • Experience in quotation or estimating is a definite asset
