Job Summary:


  • TASK 051 (Personal and Workplace Essentials);
  • TASK 052 (Career Exploration);
  • TASK 053 (Safety and Industry Certificates);
  • TASK 054 (Work Experience I);
  • TASK 055 (Work Experience II); and
  • TASK 056 (Personal and Career Portfolio).


TASK is a cohort-based pre-employment program for adults with disabilities who want to explore employment opportunities and prepare for a job.

During the first semester (September to December, students learn about their strengths and weaknesses, effective communication strategies, and self-management in the workplace.

Under the supervision of the TASK instructor, students also receive safety and industry training from experts in WHMIS, FoodSafe, SuperHost, and First Aid.

In the second semester (January to April), students put their skills to the test in a series of work-experience placements with local businesses, research job openings, prepare resumes, and develop a personal portfolio.


  • Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components._

Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in social work, adult education, or related from a recognized/accredited university.
  • Recognized teaching credential.
  • Minimum three years' teaching experience.
  • Minimum three years' experience working with adults with disabilities.
  • Experience working in a postsecondary environment preferred.
