Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Worker to join our Band. In this role, you will provides client-centred mental health support to individuals, families, and communities.
This role focuses on promoting emotional wellbeing, recovery, and resilience through culturally safe, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches. The worker supports clients experiencing mental health challenges, life stressors, and social barriers, and helps connect them with appropriate services and resources. Your energetic approach will help foster a safe and supportive environment where clients can work toward recovery and personal growth. Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and group mental health support, emotional support, and crisis intervention as needed
- Conduct basic mental health screening, needs assessments, and goal-setting with clients
- Support clients in developing coping strategies, safety plans, and wellness plans
- Provide referrals and advocacy to connect clients with mental health, medical, housing, income, and community services
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., nurses, social workers, addiction workers, Elders, counsellors)
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in accordance with organizational policies while adhering to medical terminology standards for clarity and consistency
- Support clients through transitions such as hospital discharge, treatment entry, or community reintegration
- Use trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and recovery-oriented practices in all interactions
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Collaborate with teams to develop care plans that address specific needs related to social work, education and addiction
- Promote mental health awareness, education, and stigma reduction within the community

Qualification/Educational Requirements
- Diploma, Degree or Certification in Mental Health, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent lived experience where applicable)
- Experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges, trauma, or complex social needs
- Knowledge of mental health conditions, crisis response, and community resources
- Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- CPR/First Aid and Mental Health First Aid (preferred)
- Valid driver's license is required
Working Conditions
- May involve working with individuals in distress or crisis
- Flexible hours may include evenings or weekends
- Community-based, office-based, or outreach settings
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling client information, ensuring all data is protected through appropriate security and privacy practices
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
