MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Customer Service
- Greet patient promptly.
- Accurate patient or representative identification
- Provide clear communication with patient regarding wait times.
- Provide accurate information in response to patient inquiries.
- Ensure patients requiring counseling are referred to the nursing team in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Draw customer attention to literature or information as required.
- Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy requirements.
- Provide support and assistance to the care team as required, ultimately with a view to enhancing the providerpatient relationship.
- Prescriptions
- Receive internal prescriptions from physicians via paper or electronic copy.
- Perform a primary identification of patient and confirmation of medications to be filled.
- Efficiently and accurately count or measure, package, and label prescriptions, as per Pharmacy Standards of Practice, ensuring all relevant information and documentation is complete.
- May be required to mix or reconstitute prescriptions, as directed, and supervised by the nurses.
- Gather pertinent communication pieces for inclusion with prescription.
- File completed dispensed prescription documentation.
- Manual PharmaNet submissions of prescriptions in a timely manner
- Stock Management
- Maintain inventory of dispensary medications and supplies, including ordering and receiving
- Maintain and track separate inventory of compassionate medication.
- Maintain security and proper storage of medications within the dispensary.
- Participate in daily, monthly, and annual dispensary medication inventories.
- Generating sales reports and reconciling daily sales
- Manage stock rotation and expired products.
- Prioritize recalls and immediately isolate product; quarantine until details of the recall are provided and follow the established protocol of the drug manufacturer or supplier.
- Resolve technical issues by contacting IT Service Desk
- Notify the Division Leader when supply chain issues occur.
- Package injection supply kits per protocol
- Teach patients how to use their medical devices required for the administration of their fertility medications.
- Other duties as trained and required/assigned.
PREREQUISITES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Certificate of completion from a Pharmacy Assistant or Technician program or 2 years' experience working in a dispensary.
- Adequate computer skills. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, in particular). Understanding of the internet is necessary.

From $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- Pharmacy: 2 years (required)
