Patient Access Manager
Strategic and tactical specialist who works & reports directly to the

Director, Patient Access. Individual will be responsible for Patient Support Program (PSP) financial reconciliation and daily activities on PSP's/patient access initiatives.


What you will do:


  • Patient Support Programs
  • Tactical support on development, alignment, improvement and execution/launch/relaunch of PSP's. Manage vendor relations with patient support program providers relationships, evaluation/ performance/ kpi's, issues management etc. Ensure all compliance, legal, audit obligations are met through vendor relation management. Recommendation and execution of transiting of existing PSP to new vendor is part of this position's responsibility


  • Insights/Analytics

  • Lead strategy behind PSP analytics. Work directly with vendor(s) and internal analytical support to inform and create strategy around analytics to ensure valuable insights are created and detect any possible gaps in the program


  • Brand team involvement

  • Support cross functional specialty brand teams on patient access initiatives. Participate in crossfunctional brand teams and in yearly brand planning.
  • Specialty Product Distribution (PSP)
  • Support Director, Patient Access, on product distribution initiatives related to patient support program. Focus on product launch, efficiencies, reporting/forecasting/inventory management, adherence to distribution/ dispensing laws/ regulations, and contracts/programs.


  • Strategic Planning

  • Support Director, Patient Access to develop yearly strategic plan outlining initiatives and tactics. Develop patient access initiatives in partnership with Brand Teams to further support the department and plan future development for pipeline products. Keep up to date with related technology including digital channels, innovative vendor's initiatives /programs etc.
  • Budget Planning and reconciliation
  • Support Director, Patient Access to develop yearly program operating and financial assistance budgets per program, and obtain alignment with Brand Teams. Monthly reconciliation is required to keep budget on track. Alert Brand team if deviation occurs.


  • Changing healthcare landscape

  • Be aware/informed around healthcare landscape changes (bills, federal/ provincial policies etc.). Develop and support initiatives that assist with maximizing efficiency and increasing access to patients. Work closely and collaboratively with market access to leverage this information to strategically plan and manage negative effects on brands, patient access, PSP's and the business as a whole.

Who you are:


  • University Level Education
  • Minimum
  • BA or BSc, MBA/MSc or equivalent
  • Strong business acumen.
  • 35 years of Experience within the pharmaceutical industry sales/marketing, Patient Support Program and Trade experience a strong asset
  • Ability to foster innovation
  • Ability to understand the business side of pharmacies, wholesalers trade relations.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical industry and Canadian Healthcare environment
  • Project management experience an asset
  • Dynamic team player ability to work cross functional with various different types of people.
  • Good communication skills ability to present to wide audience
