Atlantic Canadian leader in innovation and design, Enginuity, is seeking a full-time program manager to join their team as the leader of the Industry 4.0 business unit working from our Halifax office.


Focused on rapid, creative solutions to client problems ranging from the instrumentation of manufacturing processes to the deployment of automation and robotics systems,
The Program Manager, Industry 4.0 is the business owner of their program, managing existing client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered according to budget and schedule, and developing and executing strategic development priorities for their program.

As a leading member of the Enginuity Team, the
Program Manager, Industry 4.0 will also sponsor and take ownership of internal initiatives to develop the capabilities and processes of the company.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Program Manager is responsible for the execution of Projects within their Program.

While not directly responsible for staff as a line manager, the Program Manager works with the Technical Discipline Leads of each technical department and the Project Lead to ensure projects are appropriately staffed and executed.

Program Managers may be consulted on the performance reviews of technical staff.


Responsibilities:

The Program Manager's core responsibilities fall into three primary categories:

  • Client relationship management and project fulfillment
  • Ensure regular, comprehensive communication with clients
  • Ensure the execution of projects according to budget and schedule from start to finish by developing scope; establishing the project team; monitoring and controlling quality, cost and schedule.
  • Be the point of escalation for Client project issues
  • Report on project progress, risks and issues to the management team
  • Ensure accurate and complete invoicing according to the terms of the project agreement
  • Strategic growth planning and execution
  • Develop and execute strategic growth initiatives for their program, that align with the Enginuity Strategic plan.
  • Ownership of internal initiatives
  • Identify, sponsor and own internal projects to improve the operation and intrinsic value of the company

Duties:
In fulfilling their responsibilities, the Program Manager duties include:

  • Understand and participate in the engineering design process and be able to lead a multi-disciplinary technical team.
  • Maintain and support a positive environment for learning and growth within the team.
  • Create and execute project plans while interacting with Technical Leads to ensure the project team can execute projects successfully, on time and on budget.
  • Manage program performance including technical progress, financial objectives, risk management, schedules, and all other client commitments.
  • Interact frequently with clients, suppliers and contractors through design, testing and design for manufacturing.
  • Advise management and clients through appropriate delivery packages of schedule, costs, and technical milestones are being met.
  • Work with other program managers to build processes and ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across the company.
  • Work with Business Development to identify trends, celebrate project success and develop content for our marketing message.

Qualifications:


  • 5+ years experience in technical project management in an Industry 4.0 or related environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience leading new business capture activities and winning new business in a competitive environment
  • Experience with monitoring and course correcting technical teams to support customer goals
  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to multitask, address and prioritize issues across many projects simultaneously
  • Have demonstrated understanding of the concepts and practices of Systems Engineering
  • Have an entrepreneurial outlook
  • Display amazing communications skills
  • Be creative with a passion for learning
  • Be comfortable in ambiguity and change
  • Know when to ask for help and recognize that it is not a failure to do so
  • Not be intimidated by multiple concurrent projects, deadlines and milestones
  • Be able to demonstrate initiative and intuition
  • Be willing to pitchin and learn on the fly on projects outside of your background.


While we offer flexible schedules, this is an on-site, leadership role that requires consistent presence in the office and work facilities.


Salary:

$80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year


Experience:


  • Engineering: 5 years (preferred)
Project Management: 5 years or equivalent
