Kwalikum Crossing Gas Station Store Manager

Saa'men Economic Development is proud to oversee Kwalikum Crossing, a fuel station for gasoline and diesel, along with a retail store, opening estimated August 2023.

Saa'men is looking for a strong, excited, Store Manager to oversee the operations and staffing of the gas station and retail outlet.

The restaurant side will be separately managed and operated.

The following outlines the Store Manager duties and responsibilities:

Balancing shift sheets and processing paperwork.

Count daily cash, banking deposits.

Keeping strong relationships, ordering and maintaining inventory with vendors/suppliers

Scheduling and reviewing timesheets before sending to HR/accounting to process pay period.

Counting accurate store inventory.

Update promotion deals to ensure all campaign signs are up and remove the expired signages.

Merchandising and store pricing is up to date.

Responsible for overseeing maintenance for all equipment ensuring timely repairs.

Follow company standards policies/procedures.

Health, safety and cleanliness for staff, customers and visitors to the site.

Hire, supervise and train, cashiers, gas attendants, propane attendants and other staff.

Excellent Customer Service.

Reports to the CEO Saa'men Economic Development and indirectly to the Board.


Experience and education requirements:

Five or more years experience with site managing gas stations and/or retail outlets.

High School diploma

Health and Safety certificates, training would be an asset

Wage dependent on experience; 40 hour work week.

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Qualicum Bay, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Retail management: 1 year (required)
