(O/A Sleep and Alertness Clinic) is a 12-bed sleep laboratory that conducts nighttime and daytime diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies.

We have been serving the community and helping with the advancement of the sleep medicine field for over 25 years.

requires several Sleep Clinic Medical Assistantswho will:

Assist and support the healthcare team to provide overnight polysomnographic tests to patients
Assist and support in continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) titrations for patients requiring CPAP interventional therapy
Obtain patient medical history relevant to the sleep study
Instruct patients on polysomnographic procedures, prepare them for daytime and overnight studies and address patient questions/concerns
Help monitor patients throughout the study, and document patients' responses
Assist and support sleep technologists to prepare reports
Set up, operate and monitor polysomnographic equipment, and report any malfunctions or repairs required to the sleep lab technical director
Ensure the accurate and safe operation of all diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnographic services by performing all related procedures effectively
Coordinate and execute various administrative tasks

Education and Experience Requirements:

Postsecondary or higher, in a science or medical field or equivalent experience
Must obtain BCLS Certification within one month of hiring and become recertified on a yearly basis
Two or more years of clinical experience in the healthcare field
Training with experience in sleep studies, polysomnography and Positive Pressure Ventilation
Previous experience with any sleep diagnostic systems, preferably Philips Respironics Alice 5 or Alice 6 sleep diagnostic equipment an asset
Fluency in English (Reading and Writing)
Strong computer skills
Strong multitasking skills, signal and pattern recognition
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
Work independently as required or cohesively in a team

Job Type:
permanent, full-time

Work hours: 30 hours per week

Salary:
CAD $28.85 per hour ($45,000 per annum)
