    Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

    Indigenous Studies Program, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Dalhousie University

    The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for teaching INDG 3401: Indigenous Representation in Film, an in-person class to be held on Wednesdays, Fall Term: September-December 2024) at the Studley Campus of Dalhousie University.

    The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures, marking student assignments, development of course content on Brightspace, and submitting grades. In addition to course time, the instructor is required to hold two office hours per week for consultation with students. The instructor reports to the Coordinator of the Indigenous Studies program.

    Qualifications/Requirements of Position

    Applicants should have:

  • graduate training in film or lived experience in film-related work;
  • experience analyzing Indigenous representation in film;
  • We would also value:

  • training in Indigenous Studies;
  • lived experience as a Mi'kmaw (or other Indigenous) person.
  • Salary Range/Pay Rate

    (inclusive of 6% vacation pay and benefits) for the Fall 2024 semester, in accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement
