Parts Specialist to join our team


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Perform record keeping, entering data into computer systems, and tracking inventory.
  • Be able to explain parts information clearly, answer questions, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Use a variety of computer systems and other tools to research parts information and place orders.
  • Keep track of inventory and ensure that orders are processed and delivered on time.
  • Aid mechanics and other staff members.
  • Act professionally and be responsive to requests and inquiries.

Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of parts and inventory management techniques including how to receive, store, and issue parts to mechanics and other staff.
  • General knowledge of different types of parts used in locomotive and freight cars.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure that correct parts are ordered, received, and distributed accurately.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with mechanics, vendors, and other staff.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to manage workloads efficiently, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid Class G driver's license
  • Must be able to provide a clean driver abstract, criminal background check, and a drug & alcohol test.
  • Experience working with parts and inventory management systems or related field is an asset.
