We are looking for a part-time receptionist to join our South Hill Animal Clinic team. We are an essential service industry, and we are busier than ever. We are looking for someone who is a people person.

Although we are a veterinary practice, the pets we see are brought in by their owners, and our most important interactions are with our clients.

Responsibilities and Duties

• You are the first contact clients have with the practice. You are the face of the clinic being professional and caring to all clients is a must
• Answering phones, booking appointments, directing calls, taking messages, and answering basic questions.
• Use of veterinary software (Cornerstone).
• Greeting clients, checkingin patients, weighing patients, getting client and patient information, taking basic histories of the patient.
• Imputing invoices, processing payments, submitting insurance claims.
• Maintaining medical records both paper files and computer files.
• Receive and prepare prescription requests.
• Relay appropriate information to/from clients to doctors or appropriate team members.
• Stocking supplies.
• You'll sometimes get to hold puppies

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience working in the veterinary industry would be an asset but not necessary.
• Computer skills
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Office administration schooling or experience is a bonus
• Detail oriented, organized, and ability to multitask
• Reliable
• Professionalism and great people skills
• Willingness to learn

Experience

• Some experience as a client service representative or experience in the veterinary industry would be ideal but not necessary. If you have no experience but are charismatic and have a willingness to learn, please apply.
