Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Additional Required Qualifications:
2+ Years Regulated Pharmacy Technician with Alberta College of Pharmacists.
Previous Hospital Pharmacy experience including but not limited to:
patient order entry and verification, repackaging of medications, certified for final product checking, non-sterile compounding, drug distribution such as unit dose & ward stock, inventory medication management and procurement.
Demonstrate proficiency in the following:
communication (verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, organizational and problem solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams as required, computer skills, continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning
Meditech Computer Software:
1+ yr experience in patient specific order entry & dispensing, and inventory management.
Must be in good physical condition as majority of shift involves:
typing, static positions, heavy lifting, standing, crouching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking and standing for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Clinically Deployed Experience - BPMH/Med Review Trained As Applicable (Non-Sterile Compounding Preparation & Certified). Preceptor for Technician Student Learning Rotations.
