**JOB SUMMARY: The CPOE Pharmacist must possess strong communication and project management skills. As part of a collaborative team, the CPOE pharmacist will support the organization-wide design, training, implementation and ongoing maintenance for medication-related CPOE (Computerized Provider Order Entry System) processes within the Cerner Millennium suite of solutions.


The CPOE pharmacist will:
- provide leadership in developing CPOE infrastructure
- work collaboratively with pharmacy, nursing, allied health, physician and clinical informatics teams to develop integrated solutions
- lead ongoing maintenance work on the medication components of the Cerner CPOE system, while working collaboratively with the Digital Services, Pharmacy, and Clinical teams to troubleshoot issues affecting the Grand River and St Mary's Hospital facilities
- liaise between pharmacy and Digital Services
- champion optimizations and enhancements as they become available from Cerner

**QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: - Bachelor degree in Pharmacy

Current pharmacist license with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, Part A
-
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in-patient hospital pharmacy practice

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills**-
Demonstrated critical thinking and decision making skills

Demonstrated initiative

Excellent ability in Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook** **Proven good attendance record
**QUALIFICATION PREFERRED: - Hospital Pharmacy Residency preferred

  • Strong computer experience in a medical field and information systems
  • Previous experience in Cerner Millennium
  • Previous experience with Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE)
