The Part Time Administrative Assistant, Employment Programs helps unemployed and under-employed people access job related training and skills that will assist them in gaining entry-level employment.
The Part Time Administrative Assistant will be responsible maintaining participant files, helping participants with resumes and job searches and connecting with employers.
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Employment Liaison with sourcing and securing employment opportunities for participants.Primary responsibilities include:
- Help develop promotional materials for our employment services and the Job Connecting Program through
- Source job leads match program participants to job opportunities as they are sourced
- Generate lists of employers and connect to build relationships and partnerships with the Job Connecting Program
- Develop and prepare job placement contracts outlining terms, conditions and length of agreed training or job placement
- Maintain job board
- Update weekly and ensure expired posts are removed
- Assist clients with interview preparation; workshops, mockinterviews
- Conduct client followups
- Case Management; maintain and update client case notes
- Prepare and submit monthly program progress reports to the Project Manager; maintain accurate records and statistical data for reports including measurable outcomes
- Help with fundraising initiatives throughout the fiscal year; set goals to raise additional funding to support the Employment Program
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a call centre setting or customer service environment
- Proven ability to meet or exceed targets
- Case management or SPRS (Service Provider Reporting Solutions) knowledge and experience an asset
- Demonstrated networking skills
- Knowledge of resume and cover letter formats
- Ability to review, edit and write professional, impactful resumes and cover letters
- Strong English skills and a confident phone manner
- Strong organization and prioritization skills; follows instructions well
- Understanding of barriers to employment as well as the newcomer, immigrant, and refugee experience
- Knowledge of community resources providing services to lowincome and multibarrier clients
- Knowledge of job searching techniques and local labour market trends
- Experience working with marginalized people
- Satisfactory Criminal record and Child/Adult Registry Check
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have suitable authorization to work unrestricted hours in Canada for the duration of the contract
Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary:
Up to $20,000.00 per year
