START Program Team Lead
This position provides direct front line support to the individuals and staff under residential and community services in consultation of the residential and community service coordinator.
Accountabilities:

Staff_
- Assist in supervising front line staff within the START Program in conjunction with the Residential and Community Service Coordinator
- Assist with the recruitment process for the frontline support workers by participating on the interview panel with the Residential and Community Services Coordinator & Human Resources
MENTOR and
TRAIN new staff, provide leadership to existing staff, provide ongoing coaching as required
- Ensure front line staff is following CET, and The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures. Effective and efficient implementation of agreed upon plans are being followed
- It is the responsibility of the Team Leader to work the shift if coverage is not found.
- Responsible for giving feedback to the Coordinators around performance appraisals (PEAC) for staff.
- Act as the principal liaison between staff and senior agency leadership
- Ensure staff training is current and all staff has completed mandatory training requirements
- Ensure staff are completing their monthly/quarterly/yearly reports
- Take part in monthly team meetings for Residential and Community Supports.
Individuals_
- Keeping contact with the individual's family members or guardians as required
- Assist, support and encourage individuals to achieve their personal goals through the development of their Individual Service Plans with a view to enhancing the individual's confidence, competence, and participation within their social network (community, social, recreational, etc.)
- Assist, support and encourage individuals to advocate on their behalf, when appropriate assist and support the individual's desires, aspirations and life choices through interaction and advocacy within the individual's social network
- Be aware of the individual's physical, social, and recreational environments, and taking action to maximize participation/inclusion; and referral to more experienced resources when appropriate
- Assist, support and encourage individuals to exercise their rights and responsibilities to make life choices and participate actively in meaningful, respectful, and authentic relationships that align with and support their goals and aspirations
- Staff and Individuals will purchase the groceries and the team lead will go and pay for the purchases on the corporate visa.
- Advocate on the individuals' behalf to agency, community partners
- Ensure Medication Administration follows START Policy and Procedures
Management_
- Attend weekly meetings with the START Administration Team
- Being 'on call'

From $27.00 per hour

Experience:
- Supervisory: 4 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (required)
- Driving License & Clean Drivers Abstract (preferred)
