An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Finance team for a driven finance professional to join as
Vice President, Local Financial and Regulatory Reporting Manager.
As an integral member of our 19 person team, you will be joining a group of collegial professionals committed to providing exceptional service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional as well as a first time mover from a big four public accounting environment.
_ Position Responsibilities:
_
- Prepare local (Canadian) financial and regulatory reporting for our banking entities, i.e., for Citibank Canada and Citibank, N.A. (Canadian Branch), a Schedule II and Schedule III bank respectively.
- The banking businesses include: Treasury and Trade Solutions, Domestic Custody, Corporate & Private Banking, and Markets.
- Participate in the preparation of yearend audited financial statements for Citibank Canada (including its subsidiaries), Citibank, N.A. (Canadian Branch) and Citi Canada Pension Plan.
- Manage the implementation of, and adherence to, IFRS standards and new regulatory reporting requirements.
- Participate in the preparation of Board of Directors materials, including business performance analysis, asset volumes, earnings and capital forecasts.
- Assist in the management of regulatory examinations and internal audits.
- Participate in ad hoc projects as required, e.g., automating processes and/or reengineering reporting activities.
- Proactively responding to changes in the regulatory environment.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned from timetotime.
_ Qualifications:
_
- 5 years of Regulatory reporting experience (OSFI, Bank of Canada, CDIC)
- A professional accountant designation or equivalent experience preferred.
- University degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
- 5+ years experience within the financial services industry(with a particular focus on regulatory reporting and process controls)
- Knowledge of banking products, and their regulatory requirements, is required.
- Proven analytic and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with ability to influence and gain support for objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient Excel Skills
- Experience with Knime helpful
