The Parts Counter Person we need to fill this position must have high energy, be self-motivated and an individual who is willing to work hard in a team environment.

This position requires an individual to have knowledge of automotive parts to sell and help customers with.

This role requires the ability to make suggestions on additional parts needed for repair orders, processing cores & warranty parts for credit, quoting prices, and sourcing parts over the phone.


Job Duties:


  • Communicate to all customers (retail/wholesale) and staff in a friendly, professional and courteous manner, the availability and selling price of parts requested, including companion parts, ensuring that all requests are handled efficiently, promptly, accurately and that customers are exposed to the full product line.
  • Assist in all areas of the parts department including front & back counter, wholesale sales and answering phones.
  • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Review body shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock, assisting in picking orders for delivery and to the body shop, making sure all parts are tagged with purchase order number.
  • Notify the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
  • Notify the wholesale customers when all parts have arrived and when they will be delivered.
  • Communicate with the wholesale team to set up orders for daily deliveries, or pickup and relay to shipper.
  • Follow up on backordered parts. Verifies willcall and backorder files daily/weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required in an orderly manner.
  • Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
  • Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
  • Receive payment from retail, wholesale or staff customers or obtains credit authorization.
  • Ensure that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
  • Ensure that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
  • Issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
  • Solicit assigned accounts by phone.
  • Keep front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
  • Clean computer terminals and printers daily.
  • Participate with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
  • Maintain professional appearance.

Requirements:


  • Applicant must have at least two years Automotive Parts Counter experience
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills both oral and written
  • Be selfmotivated and a positive influence within the team
  • Be willing to undergo continual training on products and programs
  • Ability to read and comprehend, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to deal with problem solving involving a few or several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentages, calculate figures such as discounts and freight charges and interpret bar graphs
- or two-step instructions without detailed written or oral instructions

  • CDK, Multi Point and Xtime experience and computer skills are an asset
  • Valid MB Driver's License and clean driving record. Note Driver's Abstract will be needed to commence employment
