We are looking to hire a Mortgage Underwriter for our busy downtown office.

Knowledge of the mortgage/real estate industry is required.

We will provide training, but preference will be given to those with experience in sales, mortgage agent/broker license and mortgage agent/underwriting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing applicant's financial information, credit history, and collateral to assess risk
  • Conducting risk analysis and making informed decisions on loan approvals or denials
  • Collaborating with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders to gather additional information or clarify discrepancies
  • Ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulations, and investor requirements
  • Communicating underwriting decisions to loan officers and providing explanations for any conditions or stipulations

Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

  • Strong mathematical aptitude for analyzing financial data and performing calculations
  • Proficient in risk analysis and assessing creditworthiness of borrowers
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex financial information
  • Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data accurately
  • Knowledge of financial services industry regulations and guidelines
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Negotiation skills to propose alternative solutions or conditions when necessary

Salary:
$60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
