Asphalt/Aggregate Materials Quality Control Manager

Wintec is a large civil roadbuilder offering exterior construction material supply and services within the Winnipeg Area. Focused on asphalt paving, concrete, materials recycling, landscape construction, site services and underground construction and other exterior construction, Wintec has provided quality solutions for over 20 years.

We are currently looking for a full time
Surveyor - Roadbuilding to join our growing team

Reporting to Wintec's General Manager,
Surveyor - Roadbuilding will be responsible for major aspects of Superpave and Marshall HMA and WMA mix designs, Aggregates Physical testing, asphalt quality control/quality assurance testing process in the laboratory as well as at various infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

Daily Responsibilities:

Work directly with superintendents, estimators, project managers and foremen ensuring all are informed of project requirements, timelines, and obligations regarding GPS performance.
Use of AutoCad, Civil 3D, and Topcon software to build surfaces for use in 3D Machine Control.
Interim and final quantities.
Attain and compile data for use of machine control GPS.
Monthly project progressing.
Monitor quantities using GPS.
Upload, maintain and troubleshoot GPS systems in Graders, Dozers, and Skidsteers.
Checking grades and survey layout.
Aid field staff using 3D machine control.
Utilize transit level to layout elevation data.
File Management.
Monitor and track project costs.
Preliminary Survey.
Knowledge of road construction and ability to operate Leica Survey Equipment.

Qualifications:

Education:

A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering with a C.E.T designation is preferred. A combination of educational background along with skills / field experience will be considered.
