    ResponsibilitiesReporting to the HR Manager who is based in Toronto, you will serve as the location's HR representative fulfilling the following responsibilities.

    RecruitmentAs part of the HR Team, support full cycle recruitment including workforce planning, candidate sourcing, screening, and interviewing to ensure a strong person-job matchBuild partnerships within the community to maintain strong candidate pipelines throughout Windsor and surrounding areasPrepare, coordinate, and deliver the onboarding process including HR and Safety OrientationsHealth & SafetyRespond to health and safety-related inquiries from supervisors, and employeesPrepares appropriate health and safety reports, conducts health and safety concerns and issues, and attends operations meetings to review health and safety concerns and issuesSupport the Safety team with coordinating training, safety bulletin board updates, incident investigations, return to work management, and other safety-related functionsCoordinate regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job safety analysis with collaboration with third-party safety consultantsIdentifies any health and safety hazards as they arise and ensure they are addressed by flagging to Health and Safety DirectorPrepare reports detailing health and safety issues by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, for the Health and Safety Director's attentionTrack compliance training needs for employees and arrange for required training ensuring all employer obligations are metHuman Resources/Employee RelationsRespond to health and safety-related inquiries from supervisors, and employeesSupporting managers, supervisors, and employees with human resource and safety-related functions and inquiriesCoordinate employee training programs in line with company initiativesParticipate in the design and implementation of HR SoftwareAssist with employee relation matters and provide recommendations to management in consultation with HR ManagerConduct research and generate reports to support the HR Department's operationsSupport the Performance Review process ensuring timely adherence to policyMaintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records for Attendance, Training, Disciplinary Actions, and Performance AppraisalsWhat we requirePost-Secondary Education / Certificate in Human Resources Management or a related fieldTwo to three years of relevant experience as an HR Coordinator or in a similar role, ideally in a unionized environmentStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of peopleStrong technology skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and OutlookWorking knowledge of employment-related legislation and regulations including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Workers' CompensationStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsConstruction Industry experience would be an assetExperience administering and processing payroll is also an asset
