As soon as possible for a one-year term (Term may be reducedorextended depending on performance, available funding, and departmental requirements)
We are seeking a skilled Policy Analyst to join our team.
The Policy Analyst will play a crucial role in researching, analyzing, and updating policies that align with our organization's objectives and values.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of policy types with Senior leaders in the Vice-President Administration and Finance portfolio.
Under the direction of the Vice-President, develop a work plan for updating existing Board of Governor policiesWork with directors, managers and staff to review and update existing Board of Governors policies and procedures
Coordinate final policy review and approval with the University Auditor and Board of Governors support staff
Identify gaps in policies through research on best practices, university setting and an examination of the university's scope of operations and develop policy recommendations accordingly
Assist in communicating and coordinating education sessions for updated policies once approved by the Board of Governors
Bachelor's degree with a focus on public policy, political science, economics, or a related field
Proven experience in policy analysis and research, preferably in a university or government organization
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, evaluate evidence, and draw insightful conclusions
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a university environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Knowledge of relevant policy frameworks, university processes, and stakeholders
