    Position Overview

    The City of Kamloops is recruiting for an Assistant Design Engineer to join our team. The Assistant Design Engineer is responsible for maintaining the City's approved products list and Master Municipal Construction Documents as well as the design and completion of capital projects for upgrades and expansion to the roads, drainage, water and sewer utility infrastructure. This position provides professional engineering services to support the City's capital works program.     The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

    1. A University Degree in Civil Engineering.
    2. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.
    3. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at the intermediate level.
    4. Minimum three year's of municipal engineering experience, in either municipal government or a private consulting capacity.
    5. Minimum one year of supervisory experience.

    For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check.

    The annual salary for this position is $112, The City offers a comprehensive benefit package including generous vacation and an Earned Days Off program. Along with these benefits, the City provides access to fitness facilities, various instructed programs, and community volunteer/engagement opportunities. This is an exempt, management position.
