Repair And Maintenance Technician

- Relevant education is an asset
- General knowledge and repair skills in Appliance, Plumbing, Furnace and HVAC, Drywall and Painting, Electrical, and Carpentry
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining commercial, or residential properties
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and building codes
- Ability to work within budgets and project planning
- Passion for repairing and improving the work environment of others
- Comfortable with and capable of labour work
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and good communication skills
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn
The Repair and Maintenance Technician will manage building facilities, work with tenants and other stakeholders, collaborate with other contractors, and oversee building presentation to ensure safe and functional facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance work including rough and finish carpentry, painting and interior finish repair and replacement, door and window repairs, hardware installation and repair, installing sealants and caulking, light fixture lamp replacements, hanging pictures, adjusting, and repairing the furniture, and installing and repairing cabinets.
- Monitor and manage maintenance requests
- Conduct regular building and annual equipment inspections
- Ensure building facilities are in operable condition
- Complete appropriate cleaning, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks
- Maintain grass, and gardens, snow removal
- Monitor and maintain camera surveillance system as needed
- Update emergency protocols annually and share with owners/tenants
- On-Call for emergencies and afterhours maintenance when needed
- Parking lot maintenance and enforcement
- Obtain and approve quotes
- Hire contractors for repairs as needed
- Order and pick up supplies as needed
- Maintain good relationships with tradesmen, IT, various staff in the building, inspectors, tenants, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Hours:32 hours a week
Days:
Monday
- Friday, and On-call when required
Wage:
$25.00 / hour
