    About the role

    We are looking for an IT Senior Financial Analyst to join us in our Toronto or Montreal IT Financial Planning & Analysis team

    The IT Finance team provides financial support to IT operations and projects teams. The team is responsible for coordinating the budgeting and forecasting process, advising on budgets to achieve goals, tracking and forecasting deviations from plans, and participating in various efficiency and ad-hoc tasks. The team plays a central role with several operational teams on various topics such as financial processes, resource planning, month end tasks, training our partners, and coordination between the different departments including the portfolio management team, etc.

    What you'll do here:

  • Be a business partner with key IT project stakeholders and become a trusted financial advisor by providing specific recommendations to meet our financial objectives as well as detailed explanations of budget variances.
  • Provide key actionable insights and analysis to senior IT management: create and maintain a dashboard that explains variances (actual vs budget vs forecast) for cost centres, FTE and projects.
  • Consolidation of the monthly IT executive management presentation.
  • Participate in IT forecasting and budgeting exercises so that the current and forecasted budget position of IT projects and portfolios are well understood and communicated.
  • Run and compare the resource forecast and budget requests with available staff and contracted resources. Provide insight through monthly resource forecast reports on resource budget and resources needed to complete IT projects.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of reports provided internally and externally.
  • Continuous improvement of reports such refining metrics and visualizations.
  • Simplify reporting by taking advantage of opportunities to automate and streamline processes.
  • Validation and control of key budget inputs and resulting reports.
  • Be a key team member in evolving Intact's Total Cost of Ownership strategy and evolving our tools to achieve this.
  • What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in financial management or financial reporting preferred.
  • CPA designation or MBA is considered a strong asset.
  • Advanced Excel (Macros / Pivots / Functions), Power Point, Word.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Hyperion (Essbase) considered an asset.
  • Experience creating and maintaining dashboards in PowerBI is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience using CA PPM Clarity is an asset.
  • Comfortable learning other various IT Tools.
  • Proven ability to think outside the box.
  • Effective, clear, and concise communication and presentation skills and the ability to adapt to a wide audience.
  • Attention to detail and quality as well as critical thinking is essential.
  • Passionate about people. You build trust through respect and authenticity.
  • Customer-oriented focus and the ability to deal effectively with multiple demands.
  • Familiarity with project lifecycle, waterfall, agile work processes is an asset.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
