The Opportunity
Wajax (

WJX) is seeking a commercial lawyer to join its corporate office team in Mississauga. This will be a hybrid 10-12 month contract position, reporting to the General Counsel.

Primary responsibilities will include providing prompt, high quality legal guidance and support to busy regional and national business teams; drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements; and providing support in other areas of departmental responsibility, such as insurance and risk management.

Additional responsibilities will include assisting with special projects, including acquisitions.

Requirements:

J.D./LL.B from an accredited law school, a member in good standing of a provincial law society and a strong record of academic achievement.
67 years relevant postcall experience gained at a wellrespected law firm or corporate legal department.
Strong technical legal, problem solving and negotiation skills, a pragmatic and cooperative approach and good business judgement.
Experience gained in the distribution or industrial sector will be considered an asset, as will experience with procurement and technology agreements, and intellectual property matters.
