Description

This position will work directly with the Materials and Logistics Team Lead to ensure a smooth flow of goods from receipt to our manufacturing product lines.

As Material Handler, you will be expected to embrace and help drive any necessary changes required to achieve our continued goals for this area.

The position will focus on internal parts storage and distribution, while supporting the smooth movement of goods from Receiving through to Manufacturing, Service and Shipping.


Material Handler Responsibilities:


  • Physical movements of goods (primarily from the receiving dock to our storage area or Product lines).
  • Kitting of parts and assemblies for Service demands and Sales orders
  • Support and manage nonconformance Inventory in Production Support Data Base System
  • Work with Planners to prioritize orders to meet on time deliveries
  • Complete production orders, picking kits and picking sales orders.
  • Complete all material data entries and transactions in SAP software.
  • Support inventory verification of cycle and physical counts. Investigate and escalate discrepancies for root cause and corrective actions.
  • Embrace and encourage lean best practices and continuous improvement within the stores area to optimum efficiency.
  • Liaise with the Purchasing, Receiving, & Quality control teams to improve the material flow of product through the plant.
  • Maintain, order, and expense parts for Stores
  • Help with the timeliness of all inbound receipts daily to ensure accuracy of vendor metrics and timeliness of receipt to manufacturing.

Material Handler Requirements:
  • Completion of High School Diploma
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in a fast paced warehouse or manufacturing environment with a focus on providing the best level of service for the customer considered an asset
  • Understands the fundamentals of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban and cycle counting
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office 365, including the ability to learn new software quickly and efficiently. Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
  • Basic mathematical skills with ability to calculate simple equations quickly.
  • Reliable, punctual, able to work independently and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Strong organizational & interpersonal skills. Must be detailoriented.
  • Able to lift and carry 2025 kg on your own and able to tandem lift up to 40kg.
  • Team oriented & highly motivated.
  • Aptitude for logic and factfinding for investigation processes.
