Superintendent, Plant Services


Position Summary:


Reporting to the Manager, Operations, the Plant Services Superintendent is accountable for the success of the Sanitation program within the facility.

In partnership with Operations and QA, this position maintains all related Sanitation KPIs and ensures consistent communication across facility.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Oversee Sanitation team and coordinate with Pre-Op to ensure facility and equipment are in sanitary condition and ready for next day start up;
  • Communicate with external contractors to manage required staffing.
  • Maintain appropriate data to ensure thorough records for NPRI in Environmental portfolio.
  • Ensure Quality Compliance with all HACCP procedures.
  • Manage plant laundering and garment requirements through external contractor.
  • Maintain chemical stores, ordering and equipment requirements.
  • Manage SDS binders throughout facility, update as needed.
  • Collaborate with Engineering in early equipment design to ensure the AMI sanitary design principles and good practices are adhered to
  • Conduct investigations independently or collaborate with QA in sanitation and food safety noncompliances incidents
  • Provide backup support to other Superintendents

Requirements:

years' experience in a manufacturing environment, is considered an asset

  • Related education in Microbiology, Food Science or similar discipline is preferred
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills required.
  • Applies best practices and seeks out opportunities to improve processes.
  • Experience in GMP, HACCP, BRC, pest control and building management
  • This position works a late afternoon
- overnight shift
