POSITION FOCUS


As a member of Oceanside Regional Management Team, assists the Oceanside Program Manager and others on the management team to lead and inspire program employees, ensure program mandates are achieved, ensure the good reputation of the programs in the community, and ensure the highest quality support and care is provided to program participants.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the direction of the Manager ensure all program contract requirements are met.
  • Oversee the client services program:Supervises the Client Case Workers and ensure that care plans are created, updated, and followed; and ensures they match the needs of clients and capacity of the program.
Ensures that all clients receive essential information, orientation, and instruction at intake and discharge, and sign and comply with a program agreement if required;
Identifies client needs, patterns, and challenges and makes recommendations to relevant staff for case planning and program improvement. Reports concerns for client welfare to the Manager;
Teaches and enforces program agreements and rules including consequences for breaches;
Models compassion and empathy and coaches Support Workers to follow the ICCS code of ethics.
Ensures client's rights and responsibilities are understood and maintained;

  • As part of the Oceanside Management team:Creates safe, secure, and healthy workplace environments;
Ensures required management coverage at Oceanside Programs;
Shares on-call duties equitably with the rest of the team;
Ensure uninterrupted operation of the programs with adequate scheduled staffing;
Provides supervision in emergencies and crisis situations, supervises evacuation of the property during a fire or disaster, and provides debriefing for employees;
Monitors expenses to meet budgets;
Understands, follows, and assists with the implementation of approved policies, protocols, procedures, practices, and routines; and trains staff to understand and follow them;
Evaluates daily workload of all staff and assigns additional or different duties where required;
Assumes or shares the Manager's duties when the Manager is on leaves and vacations;

  • Meets regularly with the Manager, attends meetings as directed, and leads staff meetings as required.
  • In consultation with the Manager and HR department, carries out required HR tasks including performance evaluations, coaching, support and discipline of employees according to the Collective Agreement and policies;
  • Carries out all required administration tasks.
  • Creates and submits necessary reports and ensures accurate records and information.
  • Receives and provides necessary communication and participates in all required documentations.
  • Is the main liaison with clinicians, health workers, community organizations, agencies, law enforcement, and neighbours, and fosters good relations with these groups.
  • At the direction of the Manager, uses established systems to request repair and maintenance of facilities, and ensures all repairs and maintenance are completed.
  • In the absence of or at the direction of the Manager supports, trains, and supervises volunteers.
  • When directed, assists with fundraising, community events, workshops, and training.
  • When required, acts as a prime contractor on a worksite, supervising and authorizing all trades.
  • Shops, when necessary, with compensation for use of a personal vehicle.
  • Carries out special projects and other duties as assigned by the Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in social services or a related field.

Training and Experience

  • 3 years experience leading teams, projects, or work groups;
  • 2 year of experience with computer systems, office programs, and scheduling programs.

Required Licenses/Certificates

  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • FOODSAFE Le
